A Tenebrae service is a somber Christian worship service held during Holy Week.

  • Symbolism of Darkness:

“Tenebrae” is Latin for “darkness” or “shadows,” symbolizing the darkness of Christ’s suffering and death.

  • Gradual Extinguishing of Candles:

A series of candles are lit, and one is extinguished after each reading or section of the service, symbolizing the descent into darkness.

We invite you to join 6 of Dillon’s Local Pastors in this evening of reflecting on the Gift of Christ.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday represents the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, a pivotal event in Christian tradition marking the beginning of Holy Week. The event commemorates Jesus’ arrival in the city, greeted by crowds waving palm branches and laying down their cloaks, signaling their recognition of him as their king and savior. It is a day of rejoicing and anticipation as Christians prepare to remember the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.
